Whales to Windmills
Biomimicry is based on inventions from marine organisms. Each invention has identified a very crucial thing about how nature works. An example is arrow dynamics and understanding what will make for an efficient blade. A humpback whales flipper is a perfect example. They have bumps on their flippers shaped like the blade. The shape of the blade got tested with bumpy edges on them. It had a 20% increase in efficient over the smooth edges. Other than whales, I think their could be many more examples of other animals in out nature.
Whales to Windmills Reflection
While watching the "Whales to Windmills" video, it made me notice that some animals in our nature aren't such a harm. From, what I discovered was that on a humpback whales flippers have bumps on it shaped as a blade. This would make an efficient blade. I never knew an animal's parts could create an object that's used today.

Biomimicry 3.8 Institute is a not-for-profit organization. It supports the study and imitation or nature's remarkably efficient designs. By bringing together scientists, engineers, architects and innovators who can use those models to form continual technologies. They are mainly focusing on these three things right now:
"Developing educational programs for students, professionals and the general public."
"Working to create public policies that use biomimicry as a solution to sustainability challenges."
"Encouraging companies that are profiting from biomimicry to provide financial support for biodiversity."

Biomimicry National Website Reflection
From what I read about "Biomimicry National Website," I found out that Biomimicry 3.8 is an organization. I thought it was just something about science, turns our there's more to it. This organization is very stable, from what I see. They bring together four different types job professions that can all use nature's designs to create continual technologies. It's very exciting to know four different job professions can have similar things in common with their job.
